2 barrios in Cotabato City locked down locally due to security threats
The Local Government Unit (LGU) has locally cordoned off two (2) barrios in Cotabato City due to security threats.
The local government of Cotabato City issued an executive order that imposed a limited lockdown in two barrios. This follows three shooting incidents that occurred on November 21 and resulted in at least three deaths.
Due to intelligence reports received by the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) about security threats and sightings of armed people in the city, a local lockdown will be implemented in Purok Talitay and Pag-Asa in Barangay Rosary Heights at night from November 22nd 7 and Purok Masagana and around Fiesta Mall and Barangay Rosary Heights 10.
From 8 a.m. the above locations will be closed. to 4 a.m. starting on Tuesday. According to the report, it bans anyone from entering or exiting certain places within the settlements.
According to the issued EO, the aim of the directive is to protect the general public from safety hazards in the affected locations. Random checkpoints and 24-hour outposts will be set up across the city to further increase security. Authorities are still investigating the reason for the shooting.
